For the past few weeks we have been thinking intensely about some three very basic questions, once raised by Gauguin: Where do we come from? What are we? Where are we going? After a great deal of sweat and thought, our name has been chosen.

Graphite, originating from Greek word to draw/to write, represents the origins of things. It is the preliminary sketch that starts every means of creation. It is basic and essential. Graphite sparks imagination whenever confronted with a blank surface. It has strength and provides shading to meaning. Whether so dark as almost to black, or the lightest articulation of pencil, graphite best encompasses all the gradation of tone in only one material.
